Chelsea were dealt a huge blow in their reported bid to land Erling Haaland but there could yet be hope for Marina Granovskaia to pull off a deal for the Borussia Dortmund superstar

Chelsea could yet have the opportunity to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland despite a recent setback that looked fatal to their hopes.
Haaland continued his brilliant form on Tuesday night with a brace against Sevilla in Dortmund’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg with Sevilla.
The Norwegian striker continues to dominate headlines and it’s not just for his goals with transfer talk aplenty concerning the 20-year-old ahead of the summer.
Chelsea are one of the clubs to have been linked with Haaland, but recent talk has suggested the striker does not want to make a move to Stamford Bridge.
BILD recently claimed Haaland wants to join an ‘absolutely top club’ and that Chelsea don’t fit that criteria, but there could yet be hope for the Blues.
Or at least that’s according to a theory by a supporter named @FiaskoDollari on Twitter, who raises some interesting points when it comes to the Haaland transfer battle.
He suggests that if four Premier League clubs are interested in Haaland – that’s reportedly Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, then the battle could well be whittled down to two English clubs.
If Liverpool miss out on the top four and the Champions League, and they do indeed look like missing out as things stand, Haaland will almost certainly steer clear of Anfield.
With Mino Raiola as agent, Haaland could also be steered away from Old Trafford with the superagent rather critical of Manchester United in the past over client Paul Pogba.

That could leave Manchester City and Chelsea to battle it out for Haaland but while that will get some Blues fans excited, there are other clubs to bear in mind.
If that scenario does play out, Bayern could well become favourites to land the striker, while Real Madrid may yet make a move if they can raise some money, though they may be more likely to take a run at Kylian Mbappe.
Whoever wins the race, Haaland is going to cost more than £100million this summer with his £68million release clause not coming into play until the summer of 2022.
