It seems that HUAWEI has just dropped a non-5G variant of their Mate 40 Pro flagship smartphone. According to serial leaker, Digital Chat Station, the new HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro 4G version seems to feature pretty all of the same specs as the 5G counterpart as well as comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 out of the box. This effectively makes the HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro 4G the first HUAWEI phone to come with HarmonyOS pre-installed.
The system is replaced with the self-developed HarmonyOS 2.0.It should be Huaweis first mobile phone with Hongmeng OS pre-installed. Suddenly I feel that the Mate40 Pro 5G and Mate X2 5G in my hand are not fragrant. pic.twitter.com/nPlZkv2Gpx

As mentioned before, the new HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro 4G comes with the same features and specs as the previously launched HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro minus the 5G connectivity, despite touting the same Kirin 9000 chipset. Other specifications found on the HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro 4G include a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, the aforementioned Kirin 9000 SoC, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,400mAh battery and supports HUAWEIs SuperCharge technology, 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
As for the camera, it comes equipped with a triple camera setup which includes a 50MP wide-angle Ultra Vision Camera, a 20MP ultra-wide Cine Camera, and a 12MP Telephoto Camera with OIS. There is also a dual selfie camera nestled in the punch hole on the top left of the display that includes a 13MP main lens and a 3D Depth Sensing Camera. The HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro is now available in Malaysia for RM4,299.
There is no news yet if the 4G variant will be making its way to our shores. Until then, stay tuned to us here at Pokde.net.
