
JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng has entered its third COVID-19 wave, with the rest of the country expected to follow shortly.
This as new cases surge past the 3,000 mark for the second day.
The country recorded 3,141 new cases on Friday.

There’s also been 112 more deaths, taking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 related deaths to 55,124.
Gauteng has passed KwaZulu-Natal as the province with the highest number of active cases.
It has 7,156 cases.
474,318 people have been vaccinated, with the second phase expected to begin on Monday.
