BJP leader Amit Malviya on Thursday questioned TMC MP Nusrat Jahan if she lied about her marriage to Nikhil Jain on the floor of the Parliament. The popular Tollywood heroine has claimed her marriage with businessman Nikhil Jain was not legal.
“TMC MP Nusrat Jahan Ruhi Jains personal life, who she is married to or who she is living in with, should not be anyones concern. But she is an elected representative and is on record in the Parliament that she is married to Nikhil Jain. Did she lie on the floor of the House?” Amit Malviya tweeted.

The development comes a day after Nusrat Jahan broke her silence regarding her separation from Nikhil Jain. The TMC MP released a statement, revealing that her marriage with Nikhil was according to Turkish law and was not valid in India.
“Since it was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under the Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen. As per law, it is not a marriage, but a relationship or a live-in relationship,” Nusrat Jahan said.
She has alleged that her belongings, like jewellery and other assets, have been “illegally held back”. She also alleged that her “funds were mishandled” from various accounts without her knowledge.
Nusrat Jahan had tied the knot with Nikhil Jain at a destination wedding ceremony in Turkey in 2019.
On his part, Nikhil Jain revealed that he had filed for an annulment in Kolkata. He refused to comment further on the matter as the case is sub judice in court. He admitted that the two have been separated since November 2020.
