An emergency alert has been issued for the Grand Lake water supply.
The alert says there is an unknown issue with the water in Grand Lake that has sent one person to hospital and resulted in animals dying.
Residents who get their water from Grand Lake are being asked to cease using the water immediately. Do not drink, bathe, cook, boil and do not allow pets near the water.

People are also being asked to stay away from the lake until the alert is lifted.
Grand Lake supplies water to about 10,000 people in Halifax, Enfield, Elmsdale and Lantz.
In an update Thursday morning, Halifax Water issued a statement to say its customers aren’t impacted by the Grand Lake emergency alert.
“Halifax Water operates three small water systems within the same watershed as Grand Lake: Bomont, Collins Park, and Bennery Lake,” a release said. “None of these systems draw water from Grand Lake. Halifax Water tap water remains safe for normal use and consumption throughout HRM.”
