The Duke of Sussex wrote his father a deeply personal letter ahead of Prince Philips funeral as he tried to heal tensions within the family.
Prince Harry, 36, wrote the message after his relationship with Prince Charles hit rock bottom in the aftermath of his and Meghan Markles bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.
It is thought the Prince of Wales still remains very hurt at their decision to take part in the two-hour special, in which he was accused of no longer taking his sons calls.
Among the other shocking claims was that an unnamed member of the Royal Family raised concerns about what colour Harry and Meghans baby Archie would be.
Meghan, 39, said she had suicidal thoughts as she struggled with the pressure of being a senior royal, claiming she couldnt get any help from Buckingham Palace.
She also suggested Archie was not given the title of prince because he is mixed-race, while Harry suggested his father and brother were trapped by the institution and couldnt leave like he did.
Sources close to the Duke of Sussex, who now lives in California with Meghan and Archie, say he was forced to write letters to the Prince of Wales as there had been a complete communication breakdown.

Writing to his father, he outlined his reasons for leaving and promised to respect the institution, according to the Mirror.
A royal source added: He wrote a deeply personal note to his dad to try and set things straight but tensions are still running high and things havent exactly ironed out the way he had hoped.
There had been a kind of unspoken agreement between everyone to park whatever has been on each persons mind, and solely concentrate on supporting the Queen ahead of Prince Philips funeral.
Senior Royal Family members tried to heal tensions after the Duke of Edinburghs funeral on Saturday by holding peace talks on the grounds of Windsor Castle, according to reports.
The Duke of Sussex was said to have talked things over with his father Charles, brother William and sister-in-law Kate for around two hours.

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, who now live at the cottage after Harry and Meghan left for the US, made themselves scarce while the group hammered things out, the Sun reports.
An royal insider said: Harry obviously felt outnumbered as there are three of them and only one of him so wanted it to be on his home turf.
There is no way this is the end of the crisis in their relationships but its a good gesture and a nice way to take the first step towards healing.
William, Kate and Charles all left after about two hours, which was long enough for the process of getting father and brothers talking again to start.
Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace did not comment.
