The latest round of hearings of the Judicial Service Commission provided ample cause for alarm, writes Serjeant at the Bar.
The Zondo Commission has to date collected evidence that compellingly reveals the abysmal failure of the legislature to hold an executive to account when it was bent on expanding the capture of critical institutions of state so that a clique of rent-seekers could plunder with impunity.
During this sorry period for our nascent democracy, the judiciary stood firm.
