Arsenal fans have been speaking of their relief following the news that the Gunners have pulled out of talks to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The north Londoners had been linked with a move for the England man throughout the summer as they aimed to sign a viable back-up to regular number one Bernd Leno.
football.london understands that talks between the two clubs had initially reached an advanced stage, with it looking likely that Ramsdale would become Arsenal s fourth arrival of the summer after Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White.
However, a move now looks all but over, with football.london understanding that the Gunners had failed to agree on a fee for the goalkeeper.
The Blades had valued Ramsdale at £30million, with a face-to-face meeting then being held between club officials in an attempt to thrash out a deal.
football.london understands that there was still optimism from both sides that a transfer could be completed, however, Arsenal made it clear that they would not increase on the initial £20million that they had already offered, leading to them walking away from negotiations.
