Dean Henderson
Avoided a first-minute clanger when he daftly came for a cross Chris Wood headed in from an offside position. Beaten from a corner and haphazard at another aerial duel. 4
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Did not offer an outlet in attack often enough but harshly booked. Defended vigilantly against Burnley’s crosses, though. 6
Victor Lindelof
Burnley preyed on Lindelof’s aerial shortcomings and he had some tough times at set-pieces. Coped reasonably. 6
Harry Maguire
Did just about enough to put off Wood when he volleyed wide but James Tarkowski monstered him for the equaliser. 5
Luke Shaw
For the first time in an eternity, was rebuked by his manager for a lack of adventure. Better in the second-half. 6
Scott McTominay
Recalled but failed to set the tempo from a midfield axis devoid of Paul Pogba. Could easily have made way for Donny van de Beek. 5
Fred
Burnley did not warrant the McTominay-Fred axis and it lasted a half, the Brazilian sacrificed for Edinson Cavani. 4
Mason Greenwood
Should have scored from Marcus Rashford’s well-timed cross and made no mistake the second time with a fine finish. Earned his luck with the second. 8
Bruno Fernandes
Burnley seemed to try and wind up Fernandes and the playmaker became narky. Composed himself to cannily dummy for Greenwood’s goal. 6
Paul Pogba
Did not wear the armband this time but led well and picked out Greenwood for the fortuitous winning goal. 6
Marcus Rashford
Had his best game in months and carried the momentum into the second-half, brilliantly assisting Mason Greenwood. Overdid some good openings. 7
Subs
Edinson Cavani
Scored to seal the win. 6
Donny van de Beek
Assisted Cavani. 6
Manager
Got it wrong going with McTominay and Fred and acknowledged that by sending Cavani on but Rashford thrived through the middle. Took too long making a second substitution again. 6
